So, yeah, the Valentine chocolate is 50% off and I just ate more than I should have.
Why chocolate for Valentines Day? Is it that the Aztecs considered it an aphrodisiac? Is it because it’s loaded with happiness-inducing, love-mimicking tryptophan and phemylethylamine?
Maybe not, considering poultry, fish and legumes have more, and nobody gives their beloved a plate of pinto beans or a dozen sweet salmon for Valentine’s Day.
Believe it or not, chocolate is actually good for the heart as well as the taste buds. Chocolate has some heart-healthy iron and excitation, conduction, and contraction-modulating magnesium.
Which coincidentally…lights fires. Doesn’t that make it the perfect Valentine treat?
This has been a combination Tuesday Trivia Tidbit and Chocomania justification morsel.
